I discovered kundalini yoga in London . Since then, I have been searching for teachers and retreats worldwide. The practice is a very unique and rewarding one – nothing like I have ever experience before.
My search lead me to discover Mothers of Creation retreats , a female only experience created by Californian teacher Harmanjot Kaur.
Harmanjot has been practicing, studying and teaching Kundalini yoga since 2008 when she met her teacher Guru Jagat. She has partnered with Goop Brentwood and Soho House Malibu to teach yoga and meditation.

Could you share with us how your introduction to Kundalini Yoga has changed your health & lifestyle? How did it happen?
I took my first Kundalini yoga class on a film set and I was hooked! I felt and saw my aura – two things that had never happened to me before. But most important to me is that my anxiety was reduced. I felt confident in a way that I never had before.
How, in your opinion, can one balance the world within with the world outside? Is Kundalini an important tool to help individuals face modern life challenges’? In which way?
We are truly in the upswing of the technological era. The internet is seemingly exploding with new developments in AI. The Metaverse, with its celebrity performances and board ape NFTs, is in a heavy ramp up phase. Robotics in everyday life and silicon chips for enhanced neural processing are poised to soon become household realities.
We find a good deal of fear mongering around these rapid advancements in many communities, including wellness. Yet fear isn’t a cure for an imminent wave of change.
Kundalini yoga was actually designed for this future: a quick, powerful, self-care materia-medica of practices to instantly heal, put you back in your body and enrich your humanity.
There is a current rise in what is called “silent tourism”, a way of travelling to be silent, to rediscover oneself and to develop personal growth. Have you felt this move in your retreats? Do you think “travel within ” can be the new travel?
I think people are ready for a new kind of travel. Everyone still wants to party, explore local cuisine and have fun, but no one wants to booze and food orgy their way through a vacation anymore. Everyone is sick of the hangover. So travel that includes a healing component is, and will continue to be, on the rise.
For me, travel that includes mystical as well as bold, juicy experiences is an must!
Plunging into the deep pool of spirit is my lifeblood, but this visit to the planet Earth wouldn’t be complete without a good frolic in the waves or a well sauced bowl of pasta.
What has been the spiritual insight you’ve got that you would like to share with our readers?
Love this moment. Just love it. Cherish it. Even the crunchy parts. Then the moment will reveal its treasures.
